ECOLOGY

Plants, trees and  pollinators are absolutely key to saving our planet.

Central to my garden design and planting ethos is ecology.

​

Our London gardens can make a difference!  We must take care of the soil and  source materials and then plant responsibly.  This means taking into account the birds and the bees in planting plans and not using dangerous chemicals which can wreak havoc in our gardens and harm us too.

 We already have changing climate patterns in London and so we need to plant for rainy autumns and much drier summers.  We should be thinking of ways to conserve rain water in the summer and prevent potential flooding when there is heavy rain.

 

But it's not all doom and gloom.  This presents new opportunities to plant wonderful tropical and Mediterranean  plants which would not have survived our English winters even a few decades ago.
